Hi, My name is Eric Murphy. I am the son of Gary L. Murphy cobat medic in 101st that was stationed at firebase Birmingham in 1960-1970. He didn't talk alot about it. But, when I got older and became a Paramedic my self he would answer a few questions. I was VERY proud of the fact he was a Vietnam Vet. and proud of his service to his country as well as every vet that was there. Even though he earned quite a few medles including bronze star and the Army Commendation Medal and others he never said much and kept them put up in mom's hope chest. I sure wish I could have learned more before he was killed on his Harley in 05/02/2000. Thank you to ALL that served in Vietnam and WELCOME HOME!!

RE: THE NOTES ON THE MONSOON/TYPHOON 1970 ... The sunken boat was a U.S. Army boat and it was the YFU 63, not the LCU 1563

" In the South China sea off Vietnam's coast on November 2, an American ship, LCU-1563, was fighting in the Vietnam War. It got caught in the bad weather from Patsy and capsized. At 10 am local time the next day, the ship was found and hauled ashore. All eleven men onboard perished. One man was discovered dead near Cu Lao Island on November 6. Drowning was the cause of his death. Nine of the men were never discovered, but were considered to have died of drowning. The men were all posthumously promoted to a higher rank and families of the dead received a higher level pension. Seven years later on March 16, 1977, another body was recovered. In addition, two gunboats from the former country of South Vietnam sank the same day to the south of LCU-1563's resting place. Death totals from them are not available."

Of course when we had to watch it. Now we understand what he went through. He was in 101st airborne Screaming Eagles. We are very proud of what he did.

Good Afternoon to all the members of B Co. 2/327. It is with a sad heart that I write this post today. I just wanted to inform you gentlemen that my father Ron "Little Bear" Harrah passed away on Saturday Oct. 27th, 2012 at 2355 hours. It was an honor and privilege to be raised by my old man. He spoke often and with great pride of his service with 2/327. He taught my who to be a patriot and to love and defend my country. I will miss him dearly. For the men who served along side of him thank you for your service.

I cannot help reflect in the Sunset years of my life the privilege it was serve with ALL the men in Tiger Force through the spring and part of the Summer of 1966 (Dak To). The hard part for me was to return to the UK (from whence I sprung!) where I was welcomed as an underserving hero but to see how the returning Viet Vets were treated when they came back to the USA broke my heart and still does. Perhaps that is why I admire you ALL so much more. Unique among men. See you in the next life - May that be in Heaven !

327th veterans -- 327th REGIMENTAL Scholarship
________________________________________
As many of you are aware, 9 years ago the 101st Airborne Association was able to award only $2,000 in Scholarships to deserving dependents and children of Association Members. This year, thanks to the efforts of members of the 101st Airborne Division Association, some $46,000 in Scholarships were awarded to sons and daughters and grandsons and granddaughters of members of the Association.
At the 101st Association Reunion in Nashville this past August Rick Lencioni, Chairman of the Scholarship Committee while announcing the 2012 Scholarhip winners, threw down a gauntlet and challenged all the Regiments to consider starting a REGIMENTAL SCHOLARSHIP. The veterans of the 327th has answered by establishing the 327th Regimental Scholarship fund to provide $$ to be awarded as scholarships each year.

But, as with any new, good idea you have to start somewhere. Hence this note and request that you consider sending a donation to help get the ball rolling. No amount is too small; $5, $10, $20, $101 whatever. It will all help in starting a 327th Regimental Scholarship to be awarded in 2013.

Your donation should be made out to the Screaming Eagle Foundation care of the
327th Regimental Scholarship Fund to:

Screaming Eagle Foundation
327th Regimental Scholarship Fund
PO Box 929
Fort Campbell, KY 42223

Thanks in advance for any and all support.

Mel Valentine's funeral is this morning (Saturday, 15 Sept 12)

He was a good friend and Brother in Arms, and I write this with a heavy heart. Mel was a decorated airborne infantry soldier for his country in the Vietnam War and a Warrior for the Lord. He served with Charlie Company, 2/327th infantry 101st Airborne Division, 67-68.

Our paths first crossed in the late 90's on the Internet and we have been friends since. We were some of the early veterans that saw the internet as a tool to find men we had served with in Vietnam. By chance and fate and other friends, we linked up and attended several 101st Airborne reunions. In his name, I hope to make a memorial donation to one of our favorite veteran websites, the . I think Mel would approve.

I find myself singing or humming the old gospel hymn "We'll meet you in the morning by the river by and by....". I think in heaven our paths will cross again and I bet he will be fishing at the river. He often encouraged me. Often he invited me to visit him and once I was able but not able to spend but a few hours at his and Linda's home.

To me and many others, Mel has one of my heroes. My life is richer because of him and his family.

In War, In Peace, In Christ

Hi B J Thomason I saw your post on the guest Book about looking for some of the guys from ABU 1st 327th. I saw you were looking for Jimmy Green. I ran into Jimmy in Nashville at the 71st 101st Annual Convention/Reunion in August. We talked Briefly, as I was busy helping check everyone in for the Banquet Dinner. Jimmy said he remembered me, but I could not picture him in my mind back when we were all in NAM. Jimmy also was in 4th Platoon when Lt. Mike Norris had the Platoon.I had time to just give Jimmy my Email Address that night. I wanted to talk to him so much more. I looked for him for the next two days , but couldn't find him ! I looked here on the 327th site on the ABU Troops Roster. I found him listed there with an Email Address listed as well as phone numbers. Tried them all trying to contact him, but they seem to be no good anymore ??? Jimmy if you are out there I would really love to make contact with you Brother ! You are the first Brother from 4th Platoon that I have seen that remembered me being called "Smitty" early on in my first Tour 67-69. SGT Hoyt Skillern, former 327th Airborne, 101st, has been seeking information concerning a jump we made in Turkey on the border of the USSR. This was after the Soviets shot down CPT Gary Powell in the famous U-2 incident in 1960 and they were about to try him as a war criminal. We later exchanged Soviet spy, KGB Colonel Abell, who had been arrested for spying. The incident SGT Skillern is seeking info on is a parachute accident that occurred when we exited the USAF C-124 "Globemasters" and some of the parachutes became entangled, resulting in the deaths of some 327 "Above the Rest" troopers.

I have written about this operation of the 327th Airborne Infantry beginning on page 3 of my book "Leave No Man Behind: Bill Bell and the search for American POW/MIAs from the Vietnam War." I described how the chutes became entangled, resulting in some deaths, but unfortunately, however, I was not able to identify the men who were killed or injured, or determine their actual unit assignments. Anyone who was there at the time can contact SGT Skillern at: mskillern@kc.rr.com

Many thanks and "Above the Rest/No Slack"

Ref: Ewing Miller posting 6/27/12:

Many thanks my brother for recommending my book. I hope you enjoy reading it. There were several reasons for writing it, not the least of which, is my loathing for the loser mentality of many Vietnam vets. If you will read the flyer attached to my book carefully I believe you can see that I have made a good case for what I perceive to be victory by American and allied vets, not a lost war as described by people like Tom Hayden, John Fonda and the media. We lost 58,000 troops while killing 1.3 million communists, 300,000 of which were killed-in-action body not recovered, and 150,000 of those have never been found and identified. This is unquestionably an outstanding kill ratio. Unlike the French before us, we did not go over there to open coal mines or gold mines, or tea or rubber plantations. We went over there to move by air, close with, and kill, destroy or capture the enemy. This was our mission and we accomplished it. We did not go there to conquer Vietnam or make it a colony of the United States. We all knew we would be coming home, we simply didn't know when. We never lost a major battle and the USSR' involvement in supporting the Indochinese Communists while we were there led to the collapse of the Soviet Union, the disbanding of the Communist Party and a clear victory of the Cold War for Vietnam War vets. I believe anyone who thinks we lost the Vietnam War is simply uninformed.
Bill Bell

I was asked to reduce my entry, here is the new one.
Thanks

Leave No Man Behind: Former E/327 member, Bill Bell (1960-63), spent four years compiling an eyewitness account of the Vietnam War from its earlier stages through the last day of the Republic, 30 April 1975. With both military and civil service from 1960 to 1993 with the 25th ID, 101st ABN, 6th SF Group, and numerous joint-service and intelligence units, Bell's account provides a startling new look at the postwar era and the issue of America's almost 1700 unreturned veterans listed as POW/MIA, an issue that has haunted America since the beginning of American involvement. Shrouded in controversy, a subject of great emotion amid charges of governmental conspiracy and Communist deceit, the possibility of American servicemen being held in secret captivity after the war's end has influenced U.S. policy toward Southeast Asia for several decades. Now, the former Chief of the U.S. Government's first official office in postwar Vietnam provides an insider's account of that effort. The challenges he faced in dealing with U.S. politicians, including Vietnam veterans, Senators John McCain and John Kerry, are an ardent reminder of the many similarities in the bloody wars fought by American troops in both Vietnam and Iraq-Afghanistan. In an illuminating and deeply personal memoir, the government's top missing persons investigator in Southeast Asia, who later became a member of the U.S. Congressional Staff, discusses the history of the search for missing Americans, reveals how the Communist Vietnamese stonewalled U.S. efforts to discover the truth, and how the standards for MIA case investigations were gradually lowered while pressure for expanded commercial and economic ties with communist Vietnam increased. Leave No Man Behind is the compelling story of a dedicated group of professionals who, against great odds, were able to uphold the proud military traditions of duty, honor and country. Veterans who were fortunate enough to come home can honor the sacrifice made by our unreturned brothers-in-arms by taking the time to read this revealing account of their fate.

Ms Mulligan: regarding your inquiry about Roger Overstreet. We trained together at Fort Gordon infantry school, and went to jump school at Fort Benning in December 1967. We made our last jump on Dec 18th, and we were given 12 days leave. After that we went to Vietnam arriving on January 8, 1968 at Bien Hoa. After some training we were assigned to the 1st Battalion 327th infantry at Song Be. We were assigned to C Company; he went to the third platoon, I went to the second platoon. In February 1968, the company operated around a hill that would become Firebase Tomahawk until early March. We had losses from mines and motor fire including several dead and wounded during that operation. The next operation was west of a town called Phu Bai. We were in contact with the enemy for twenty days in a row losing many troopers; one was Roger. May he rest in peace. Best wishes...Mike Oconnell

I'm looking for anyone who may have known my grandfather, SFC Jesse Louis Harrison, who served with A Company 1st Battalion 327th Infantry in Vietnam ('65-'68). He was killed in 1968 during a domestic dispute so I have almost no information on him. To my knowledge, he enlisted in 1946 and was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and a paratrooper instructor at Ft. Benning. I believe he received a few commendations including a Purple Heart. Any information or recollections would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you.

In response to C. Butweiler, I remember "The Kid", one of the only Red Leg NCO's in country, possibly the only. Most Red Legs were ossifers (yuk). I have forgotten his true name, but Dan Carr (2/327 Bravo 2nd Platoon 3/69-7/69)knows his true name, Dan is on the 2/327th roster, u can look up his e-mail address there. The kid was from S. California and on occaision was noted for his Purple Osley Mini tabs of LSD. He also smoked a ton of in country gangha, the best by far of any Red Leg the 2/327th operated with, "The Kid" loved the grunts and we loved him back. I would truly love to find him, he was the King of the hill of all Red Legs and he humped like us, full back pack, pulled security etc. did as the infantry did, associated with infantry only, he burnt shit with me while we pulled security temporarily for the cannon cockers on FSB Bastogne.

My dear brother Daniel Fieux served with the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War. I do not know what troop/brigade he was in. As a girl my Mom and I would send packages to him with cookies, rum balls and things needed.

What I am looking for is someone who might have known him during the Vietnam War. He had PTSD and was affected from Agent Orange. As many Vietnam veterans, he did not speak of the war. He died at age 40 and I found him dead from a heart attack. I just need to talk to someone who might have known him with the Screaming Eagles in 'Nam. I need closure. *sigh* Thank you.

Hi Everyone,
I served in both C Company and E Company from April 68 thur May 1969. I got my discharge and returned to the Army in 1972 where I retired in 1994. The Army was good to me and the memories have always been good for me of the people I have met through the years while serving. I would love to hear from anyone that remembers serving with me. I would love to get the roster of the people I served with, both in C Co, E Co Morters and while serving in the rear area, which was the worst job I had has a Company Armorer. I always enjoyed the men I served with, no matter what the job was.

Dog Tag to be returned to family of Vietnam KIA Jackie Dale Walker, 44 years after his death

Between April 20th & 24th, 1968, men from the 1st Battalion, 327th were involved in a firefight to secure two peaks located about 27 kilometers southwest of Hue in Vietnam. Seventeen Americans were killed.

One of those men, Jackie Dale Walker, had just recently celebrated his birthday on April 7th, 1968, he turned 19. He spent his birthday in Vietnam with his brothers of Bravo Company 1/327th.

Jackie and his family should have been spending a joyous time celebrating his 63rd birthday a few weeks ago. Instead, his family was left with only memories and thoughts of what could have been

Jackie Dale Walker, son of Harold and Christine Walker, was born in Okemah, OK, where he shared a humble live with two sisters and three brothers. He loved to fish, hunt, ride horses and had a great fondness for animals. After attending Bearden and Okemah schools, he was a member of the National Guard before he joined the Army in 1967.

This Saturday, April 21st 2 days before the 44th anniversary of Jackie's death, his mother Christine and family will be presented with a possession Jackie left behind in Vietnam, his dog tag.

Jackie's dog tag was found in 1998 by Wall Street trader Manny Santayana, who was touring the Ho Chi Minh trail and stumbled onto a Vietnamese man who made a living out of extracting bombs from the ground, grinding up the metal and selling it for profit. Sometimes he would stumble upon dog tags from U.S. soldiers, which he would collect and store in an ammo bag under his bed.

He had 105 of them, and he just harbored them away, thinking perhaps that they were worth something, Santayana recalled. Well, that day they were worth 100 bucks.

Over the next several years, Santayana was able to make some returns to dog tag owners, but he eventually became too busy to continue with the research. He then enlisted the help of NJ Senator James Beach and the NJ Dog Tag Committee was formed.

With the help of many organizations, the NJ Dog Tag Committee continues to research, locate and reunite the dog tags with the veterans and their families in the cases that the veteran was KIA. The organizations involved in Jackie's dog tag return include the Patriot Guard Riders and the VFW in Shawnee, among others.

The Patriot Guard Riders and friends will escort the Walker family from Sand Creek Cemetery, where Jackie is buried, to the VFW Post 1317, 811 East MacArthur Street, Shawnee, OK 74804 where VFW Officers and the Patriot Guard will present the Walker family with Jackie's dog tag.

For more information about the Dog Tag Project, including a list of dog tags yet to be returned, visit www.powmiaawareness.org

Hi All,

Just wanted to let everyone know who knew or served with Ken Claypoole, in the 101st or the 82nd Airborne, that he passed away yesterday at about 3:15 pacific time. Ken was in the Sutter General Hospital in sacramento when he passed.

He is survived by his wife Ruth and his son Ken junior and granddaughter Kienna, and a host of friends in the Sacramento area. Ken served in B/2/327 from October of 1966 till June 27th 1967, when he was severly wounded during operations near Duc Pho, when our squad was involved in an ambush, that took nearly half the squad that day.
He was originally in second platoon, but was selected for assignment to B-company's recon squad called the "Spiders" and finished out his time with B company there until he was medi-vaced to Japan to recover from his wounds. He returned to Viet Nam with the 82nd ABN. DIV. while assigned to the 17th Cav in late 68, and finished out his enlistment with the 82nd.

Ken was one of the best soldiers I served with and one of the toughest men I ever knew. He carried the M-79 and was very expert in it's use, he had one of the best personalitys in the company and was a friend to all who knew him, also a real prankster who could liven up any situation and make the day a little better when we needed a lift. He could also try your patience with his antics, but I could not imagine not having him in my squad, or in my life, and I'm sure any one who served with him would say the same thing, he was one of a kind.

So if you are a mind to, say a prayer or lift a glass in rememberence of this old paratrooper, who did his best, and will be missed by all who knew him, he was truly one of the "good ones".

"No Slack" and Best Regards to all of you.

Jim Wilson

I am 54 years old now, but as a young boy of 7-10 years old, raised in Georgia, I well remember our entire family each night praying on our knees for our troops fighting in Vietnam. Even though I am NOT a Vietnam veteran, it does not take Memorial day or Veterans day for me to think about what we lost in Vietnam. Please know that there are so many that love and respect you, and have not forgotten your sacrifices.

I was searching for John Brundage who served with the C. Co., 2/327 Inf 101st ABN. He was noted in a letter from a mutual friend, LT Claude Alexander who was wounded in ~ Aug 1970 and subsequently brought to our hospital the 85th Evac in Phu Pai. Claude has since passed away. I logged onto your site and noted that you are discussing the Christmas Eve incident of 1970. I was at the 85th Evac at that time and it was a very disconcerting incident for us at the hospital as well as for you. Difficult enough to work on the wounded troops knowing that it was 'Charlie' inflicting the damage - very disheartening to know that it was a mistake made by one of our own. I remember the LT in question was very distraught. There were other 'friendly fire' incidents while I was there, but none as traumatic as Christmas Eve 1970. At our 85th reunions that incident is remembered and much discussed. My heart goes out to all of you involved. Patti(85th Evac Phu Bai Aug 70- Dec 71)

Hello, I FOUND a memorial bracelet in the ocean while I was vacationing in Wilmington Beach N.C. a couple months ago. The bracelet is made of like a thin silver aluminum pretty washed up from being in the ocean. Well I finally got it to where I could read most of the writing. It has this written on it "SGT DAVID HART" then the second line says "2-327 INF PFC IVAN MERLO PFC PHILLIP PANNER 08 JAN 2008" Thats all that it says. I know someone would probably love to have their lost memorial bracelet back. If anyone has any information to whom might have lost this please email me asap, I would be happy to return such a thing. I was there in Sept 2011, It could have been lost anytime between Jan 2008-Sept 2011. My email is RobinJay1018@gmail.com. I hope I could find the rightful owner. I appreciate everything all of you guys do for the country and for us individually. God Bless All.

I found this fantastic site honoring the soldiers of the 101st,327th. My late Father was Colonel James R. Wilson of the 1st Batt. I'm deeply honored to see his photos here. He passed away in August of 1987 from Cancer due to exposure of Agent Orange in Viet Nam in 1966. He was 61 Years old young. Hi all, I met up with Mil Thornton in Phoenix this past week while my wife and I were out there for a conference. It was good to see Mil though I have not seen him since we were in Vietnam so many many years ago.

Stay safe all my brothers.

My father served in the 101st in 67-68 in Vietnam. I was born while he was in 'nam so I don't know which battalion, but I'm desperately looking for his service records. He has since passed away of a devastating cancer. We are 5th generation Army (except me, as a girl), but my son is just getting started and I'm trying to put together all the service records for my father, grandfather, great-grandfather, etc for my son. I cannot find my father's info. Can you help?

Hi, my name is Mitchell Errebo, I was a first cousin of Butch Kobbeman's. I have found another website with "Butch Kobberman" on the roster. It was spelled "Kobberman" but I assume it was spelled wrong. I know he served in the Tiger Force in 67'-68' but know really nothing else. He passed away in 1990. If you can give any insight of your service with him it would be much appreciated. I am from Lincoln, Kansas where Butch grew up. Thanks Mitchell Errebo

This is a rough time of year for myself and many of my Veteran Brothers that served with me in Vietnam. A lot has been happening the past couple of months to cause me to make this tribute to 12 Vietnam brothers from A-Co, 1/327, 101st Infantry Division that were either injured or killed on December 24, 1970. I will be posting a few names each day until Christmas eve at 5:45 when I traditionally light a candle to remember those that fell that evening.

On Dec. 24, 1970, Alpha company was deployed in the Jungle around Firebase Bastogne in I-Corps. There would be a 24 hour cease fire observed for the Christmas holiday. The enemy had already shown that they would use these times to launch offensives hoping to catch our guard down. So all firebases were protected by various Infantry units stationed around them as security. Our Co. was 3 platoons strong. Each platoon took up positions along a ridgeline that was very dence jungle. The 2nd platoon was our most experienced platoon at the time and so a new platoon leader was assigned to them so he could cut his teeth and learn from the platoon of the things that were never taught in infantry school. Each platoon was setting up what we called our Night Defensive Fire positions around our NDP (night defensive perimeter). We were setting predetermined coordinates for artillary support to be able to be called in should the enemy decide to strike in the middle of the night. 2nd platoons new platoon leader did not follow the proper procedures in the field and called a howitzer 105, high explosive artillery round on top of his and the platoons postion. There were 12 injured and 9 killed. within 3 days there would be 3 others that would die to leave 12 dead and 9 severely wounded. This incident has been in our memories for a very long time and those that survived that event and those that had to do the clean up of the incident on Christmas Day will never forget. Recently I have been in contact with the gun crew that fired the artilery round that struck 2nd platoon. They have been suffering for 41 years with thinking that they killed those men without knowing all the details. Alpha Company of 1/327 never blamed the Arty guys and I want them all to know that we understand their grief and pain but it is time for healing now.

There are much more details to the story of pre and post incident but for this purpose it is not necessary to post it here. I will name 4 of the young men that were lost that day. It is our job to Remember them for giving their all.

To Rod Smith.
Rod. You might want to check your facts on your Chinook crash report. That chinook crash has been well documented and recorded with the names of 34 that parished that day. I take offense to your light hearted references to a mission gone bad by OUR brothers. They were by no means rear echalon or cooks and clerks. They were A co. 1/327 Grunts. The company commander along with several others that I served in the field with just weeks before the accident were on that bird. If you don't have facts then don't post. Look in the stories on the 327 website here for the facts. You will find the chinook crash of Thanksgiving day 1971. And sir you owe an apology to A company and gratitude that you were not on that bird that was shot down by enemy fire.
Above the Rest means integrity above all.

In life, a chain of events effects one person's life while having a profound effect on another unrelated person or persons.
The best I can remember:
Sept to Nov 1971; It started to rain
I was in "C" co 1st of the 327th airborne we were grunts By Nov. we were comming off some mission out of DaNang operating off a very small Fire Base (Maud) in the mountains You could see the China sea to the East. One night we watched as the fire base to the West blew their final protective fire. What happened? Captain Casey warned we would probably be overrun.
On Nov. 26 we started to move back to Camp Eagle through DaNang. A friend and I were almost late for the formation on the tarmac pad at DaNang. I ran down the steps to fall in. My friend lagged behind to pick up something.
It was grunts first (I guess out of respect) on the choppers. We loaded to the sound of "Gentlemen you know the drill. No animals. no live amo. Keep standing and move forward!! Move forward!!" There was mumbling, then a bark or a yelp. Someone had a dog. The next order was "Unload men." The rear eshalon with the clerks and cooks was then loaded in our place and the Chinok gaggle lifted off with a whop whop whop sound and monsoon clouds in the background. My friend and the dog had sent all those mothers son's to their early grave on the side of a mountain stream just west of the China Sea. We were left standing in the drizzle to fly back later as punishment for dog violation. We waited at least 3 hours before we were told the Chinook and the men were MIA. I often think about the heartaches and tears that dog caused the mothers, fathers, wives and people dear to their hearts.

I don't remember but had to identify Troy Hayden having just arrived in field with him a few days prior. It was our first firefight, with same 60 team. PFC Dennis Patrick Molese died in battle on Mother's Day Hill on 14 May 1967. He arrived in country on 8 Apr 1967. He was a member of the 101st. He was airborne. He was very proud of that. Guess he was a cherry or FNG, but we all had to start somewhere.

The real old guys (see WWII) would say he was a hero. The toughest thing is that it doesn't sound like anybody knew him over there. I never did combat, so should probably just shut up.

"It was such a senseless war. I lost my nephew Michael Campbell. He was only 26 years old. Sad." The politics of war never justify the loss of good men on either side. Our hearts will always bleed for those who never came back. We have to look to those who survived to make any sense of any war. Warriors are a rare and strange breed. I would say they are a nation's most valuable resource. They are not made; they are born, and then trained. One never knows if he is one until his fist fire fight, and then he will never be the same.
Recently I became aware of a family situation that required all the training and heart that warriors possess. I thank God that at seventy years of age; that the warrior heart still ticks and like Wild bill would say, "Gether done!" In the getting done, no warrior stands alone. I know this all too well as I spent my whole basic load, set off claymores, and everything I could get my hands on. I was surrounded by my opposition and things looked pretty bleak. I was about to be over-run. Then my sweet and lovely wife calls for artillery support, and additional ground troops. "On the way, wait" I waited; by the grace of God. Lawyers:,Olsen, Brown,Meyers, and Paralegals, Trish, investigator Don et al; mapped out the Operation. Professor Meyers and Maryland his right hand, hit the airways with airial attacks. Then the artillery came. Jim Mann hammers the Montana grid square. No slack and above the rest ground troops Yankee Jim and a Platoon of Gung Ho brothers stormed the enemy. Just when the reinforcements changed the tide, and the battle seemed no longer in question; a Marine (Tom Brennan) fought his way to the battlefield and extracts my incarcerated six. The battle goes on; but the opposition knows they are in for a fight.
I don't know if there is any sense to war. Jesus said "You have war because of greed" I guess that's true, even down to two siblings fighting. Someone wants their way, and justice demands that they be stopped. Then is the clarion call for warriors from every phase of life to step forward and do battle. For it is in the the heat of battle that a human heart is forged into a heart of gold. Your Nephew had a golden heart, and every veteran feels the call to demonstrate that heart, every time they stand for that which they defended. Be proud of that young man to whom we salute, with every breath of freedom we possess.
Last night I sat in a isolation lock down POD in a Montana Jail. I hear over the loud speaker, "Wainscoat! Roll her up. You're outta here!" Thirty minutes later I stood looking at a Bondsman and a stranger. You have been bonded out he said. By whom? By him, the stranger: but he was no stranger; he was a brother in arms, another veteran with a golden heart.
As I sit here at the hotel computer in Great Falls, awaiting the court's decision as to whether I leave Cascade County; I want to thank every individual and couple who have come to my mom's, my daughter's, my family's rescue, and still continue the fight for Justice and Equity. You all have my family's eternal gratitude and prayers. Scoat, over and out.
