It is with regret that I post this notice of the passing of SFC. Fred Tregaskes (retired) B/2/327 1966-67. Fred passed on Monday the ninth, and will be buried this Friday with full military honors, in Kittanning Pa. Services will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Kittanning. Fred served as platoon Sgt. in both 2nd and third platoons of B Company. He was one of the most respected NCOs in the company, and one hell of a soldier. He was severely wounded on June 27th 1967, and spent the rest of his life in a wheelchair. He paid a huge price for our country, but never complained and was an inspiration to us all. Fred was inducted as a DMOR in 2006 I believe, and worked tirelessly to help other Vets in his area. Those of us who were lucky enough to know and serve with him, will never forget our "Tiger-T" Fred Tregaskes. Rest in peace old comrade.

Jim Wilson

I used to be listed on the site, but could not find it. I was wondering if anyone from the 1/327th A. Co remembers our first night assault where they could not get us all in on the Lz's and we were pinned down for quite some time, it was the largest night time air assault and only 1 1/2 company got in and we had no help.
Thanks

In response to Brent Grosso who posted on this site: I'm Kenneth Chance and I remember you, Brent. I was just a cherry when I knew you. On July 19, 1968, we got ambushed and Rick King was killed - he was a team leader. Some of the names I remember are Cpt. Kanine, Doc Roach, Rod Phillips, Ron King, P.J. McCartt and Treas. We were in the Rhyno Valley when King got killed. We then went to the A Shau Valley. Delta Company was closer to the hill, so they went up and they lost a lot of troops. We went through a mine field at night to get out of there since we were surrounded by the NVA - the choppers rescued us in a safe area. We went in on a battalion stand-down for 3-4 days. If you want to call, my phone # is 641-672-8009.

I am looking for SSG Miguel Rodriguez, Thomas H Ingram 1LT, Charles F Reynolds PFC, George R Cook PFC, Roy L Williams, PFC. Wondering if any of you remember Lt Frick and Herb Williams who were killed the night we were wounded Nov 4th 1968. If any are still alive, I would like to hear from you. Also a friend was killed in April 1969 - Robert Prete from Piffard, New York. He was married and was NCO E5. Wondered if any of his family might be around? I had served with him and was there when he was killed.

Interesting to read about the hit on Tomahawk. I think most of the FSB had been moved to the north hill and the LZ was on the saddle.by the time I was there.

I am looking for someone that may know some details about the incident in Lam Dong Province on 21 Dec 1967 in which Lt David Myers, SSgt Donald Smith and Cpl Michael Feagan were killed. Another soldier may have been wounded. What base were they operating from? Who remembers them? Was there an investigation of the incident?

I'm the son of Floyd Legassie. I was contacted a few years back by Mr. Miller about a book he had written. My father always spoke so highly of those of you that served with him. Reading that book I can see why he did. A few years back his house was broken into and basically emptied while he was in the hospital. Out of everything, He was most disappointed about his photos from his time with some of you. Im basically the only family he has left and was hoping if any of you that served with him had pictures that youight be willing to send some to my email address so I could print them out for him. Thank you all so much for your service and for the books and papers that you have written to help me better understand the man I call Dad. Best wishes to you all!!!

Transferred into C/1/327 from 3/506th sometime in 1968 after TET. Honorably discharged in October 1968. Just found this site as I am finally trying to recall some details of the war and my time in it. Hoping to find more history of locations and rosters of C co in 1968.
