I am looking for anyone who served with my father, Sgt. Mark Marquess, in Vietnam in C-2/327 Infantry 101st Airborne, he served in Vietnam from January 10, 1970 until December 4, 1970. My father died in 1979 when I was very young and talked very little to relatives of his time in Vietnam and I'd like to find out where all he was during a time that had such a profound impact on his life and anything anyone could tell me of him as I was so young when he died and have a limited amount of memories. If you may have known him or could give me any information on his locations while in Vietnam I'd greatly appreciate it.

My father was an avid photographer and wrote descriptions on the back of his pictues so I do have some clues as to who and where I'm looking for information about. He had pictures of the following people: Dave Sandoval, Don Kirby, Dennis Utt, Ron Kenslow, Ed McWilliams, Horn, Morris, Doghandler, Ralph Velasco, Sammy Gray, Jay Irick, Gary Way, Roger Long, Kerry Kitt, Allen Tinker, Ramos, Watson, George Mallinak, Doc Kelly, Danny Poole, Ron Smith, MacGregor, Terry Kasparian, Mike Rice, Bob Mattox, Sadler, Skinner, Lamburger, Puckett, Chico, Slick Wilhelmi, and Little John. If you have any information on these people or know where I can find them please contact me.

He has pictures of the following places, with the exception of the major cities I can't find many of these places on a map and would be interested in knowing where they are and/or information on the operations my father could have been participating in, in these places. The places were: Eagle, Cau Hai, Cam Ranh, Hoa Binh, Hoa Mau, Cau Hai, Phu Loc, Cinh Loc, Bach Ma Road, Los Banos, Nvoc Voc, Elephant Valley, Truoi, 155, Hill 602 and Nuoc. Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Screaming Eagle Troopers

This is Jerry Berry with the 3-506th (Bn PIO 1967/68) - www.currahee.org. Check it out!

Since Dale and I help each other out from time to time, I wanted to pass on this offer to our sister battalions of 1st Brigade.

I get requests often from our members asking me how do they go about getting copies of their military personnel and medical records. I and others have posted the "How To" on our website and through e-mails. I offered to help anyone wanting to get theirs for a fee...I think $20-$25 it was. Several of you took me up on it. My fee was to cover the cost of postage, filling out the necessary forms, communicating with St. Louis (when needed), etc. The
>two primary reasons why many of you don't go through the process to get yours, is you don't have the time to do it, or understand exactly the process to follow. It normally takes about 2-3 months to get your records, if St. Louis don't have to get back with you. Then, you are put back on their list and that means a longer delay.

I spoke with my daughter, Stephanie, who as you know does a lot of my graphics for our Currahee group; and asked her if she would be willing to do the 'leg work' for anyone wanted to get copies of their military records. Since she is working to generate jobs for 'fledging' home-based business--graphicworks.com, she said she would love to. So, here's the offer:

For a fee of $25, she will take your military service information needed (you provide) to submit it to St. Louis and file for you the request (form 180, if I'm not mistaken, which I have) for your records--(both personnel and medical...two different departments). She will do all the 'leg work' and communicating with St. Louis for you).

The military encourages all veterans to request copies of their records for personal needs, especially for medical claims and treatment. You will be amazed at what all you will find in your records. I had everything from draft notice, shot records, all orders (with so many names of guys that were in my units (Basic, AIT, Jump School, 3-506th). I even found orders with home addresses of other guys listed on certain orders. A wealth of info.

If interested, let us know, and Stephanie will contact you.
