I was with C co in 68 and 69. Have looked for friends but the names I remember were Lucky and CID and Mamma Cruz. The only real name I remember was Lt. Ron Beckman. I carried the radio for him. Went back to Vietnam in 97. Stayed in Hue and tried to get into the Ashua but a bridge was out.

"No Slack". For all the past and present soldiers of the "No Slack" Battalion; As Christmas approches, the overwhelming feeling of a past not too long ago having served during Desert Sheild/Storm, urged me to search a feeling once felt. The feeling of being one of the strongest, most feared members of a proud and missed orginization will always follow me in thought. Two things quickly: (1) Merry Christmas to you, the family of the current No Slack family and Soldiers. (2) Is the American Flag that once hung on the wall in the Company area with our names on it, still there???? If not, which Soldier recieved it??? Take care, God Bless and most of all, "NO SLACK"

About 3 months ago I posted a message in this guestbook, expressing my gratitude to the veterans of the 327th and explaining my intentions, as a living historian (reenactor) to put together a living history display for the 327th in Vietnam. I've been contacted by some of the veterans of the 327th, from whom I have received so much support and assitance. I am forever thankful for your help. I am writing again to say that I am well on my way to completing the basic impression and to tell you about a new living history group that a friend and I have formed. It will be called the 101st Airborne Timeline Living History Society. We want to be able to set up a display that will showcase various units of the 101st from World War II, Vietnam and Desert Shield/Desert Storm (hence the name "timeline"). We have a web site that explains our mission and our goals for this group, the link is listed above.
I must say, that when I first wrote in this forum 3 months ago I did not know much about the Vietnam War. Many hours of reading books, researching the internet, and talking and emailing with Vietnam vets has done much to change that. And the more I learn about the war, the more respect and gratitude I feel towards you who served during that time. Thank you, you are not forgotten, and there are a growing number of living historian/reenactors who are doing their best to see you will be remembered with the gratitude and the respect that you deserve.

Served with HHC 1/327th Inf (Above the Rest) from Mar 89-Oct 91. Golf War Aug 90-May 91. My memories of those I serve with are strong and unforgetfull then of the 20 years I served. Thier names will remain in my mind till the day I die. We were the Combat Mechanics Two Air Assault missions we did and weren't even 11B, but was proud to serve with them.
