D, E Companies 1969 – 1970
I started in D company in Sept 69. Transferred to E company February or so. I worked in Mortars in E company at the bridges along Hwy 1 bridge 9 I think and even 5 for a while.
I carried the M-60 when I was with D company, mostly in the foot hills and rice patties, a wet, muddy and surprisingly cold at night job. Not a fun year, I know you know what I mean.
I have a CIB, Bronze Star, ARCOM and that kind of thing, no jump schools, made buck sergeant before getting out in 71. I joined the guard when I got out of the army. Stayed in a while attained the rank of Captain.
