Started in-country as an ammo bearer (May 69) for a machine gunner called “Doughbelly”.
Too small to be a pack mule, I was trained to take over walking point. Walked point from August 69 till May 70. Became a fire team leader, then a squad leader all for E-4 pay. Proud to have served. Proud of those serving today.
