I remember being sent out to a helicopter crash site. It was pretty bad, one guy was still alive with a very bad head wound. I held the mans head together while the medic prepared a dressing for it. Also one of the gunners was still at his position, still burning and
someone threw a canteen of water on him to put the fire out then me and another guy pulled him out. My hand was cut on one of the guys bones and had to be patched up.
On one occasion while on ambush I shot a tiger, and someone took a picture and mailed it home to my hometown newspaper in Daytona Beach Fl. The headline read “And the enemy had claws.” Maybe this will jog someones memory.
