I was wounded and evacuated during operation Wheeler, at Tam KY. I was taken to the second surgical hospital and roughly put back together. I spent the next 18 months in a variety of hospitals. During that period I lost all contact with anyone who was with me on that fateful day. I don’t know if any of you remember Roger Wilfong….he was my best friend, he died in my arms after he and I had assaulted a automatic weapons position that seemed to have the whole company pinned down. I have been in touch with Rogers mother and other family members. I have info from Rogers family if anyone is interested, contact me.
