I enlisted airborne infantry Oct. 67 after a good friend of mine
Lance Corporal Peter Penfold, was killed in the Quang Tri province, he saved my life in a car crash the year before.
I was assigned to the 101ST, 2nd Bat/327th Inf./ Co. D. in
April of 68. I eventually became the 2nd platoon RTO for LT. Dick Farr, whom I still talk to today, among other troopers. My second tour was with the 118th Helicopter Assault Co. in Bien Hoa.
I do talk to Dale once in a while and I want to commend him on a tremendous job getting the 101st. website back up and running. A lot of history and remembrance that should not be forgotten. NFS

I would like to get in touch with Dewright who posted in Dec. 2021 about an incident involving the artillery accident. I was with D Co. 1st /327th on a hill a few clicks away, heard the explosions and saw smoke. Then we heard it over the radio. I still think of it every year. My email is gfcsr1121@gmail.com.
In 1966 for about 5 months, I served with B-1-327th Infantry, 1st Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, South Vietnam. I think the base camp may have been Tuy Hua. I was 22 years of age. I went through airborne training in July - August 1964, Fort Benning, Georgia. I was 19. My first duty station was with the signal company, 10th Special Forces, Flint Kaserne, Badt Toltz, Germany. The tour of duty was 3 years.
1lt, A Co, plt ldr mostly 1st and 2nd, briefly 3rd. Dec 68-Nov 69. finished as XO B Co. Many thanks to Hannibal and Yankee Jim. Had some pics on old site and have had them put on a digital device. Briefly, I volunteered for duty with the 101st and I served with D/2/327 from May 1968 to May 1969 as 2nd Platoon Leader and then XO. Later, after finishing flight school and the Cobra AH-1G gunship transition, I again served with the 101st โ this time with A Troop, 2/327 Cav in โ71-โ72.
Brothers โ we are so very fortunate that Dale Hansen, a truly Great American, has again taken on the daunting challenge of developing our 327 Infantry Vets website. The original website was an amazing repository of unit histories, personal anecdotes and observations โ and really a superb piece of American history as told by those of us who were actually there and participating in the making of it. A remarkable national treasure for sure!
Many thanks to Dale and all of his many supporters for this remarkable piece of our shared history!
