Great Site. I was with the 176th AHC, Mar. 67 thru Mar. 68. We put the 2/327, 1/502 and 2/502 in the field out of Duc Pho.
I have had "Black Panthers", Lt Col. ????, CO of 2/327, flight helmet for the last 35 yrs. I would like to personnal give it back to him. Oh, and damn good boxer. Beach at Chu Lai !!!!
Does anybody remembers barbacuing our CO's pet calf?
Again, Great site. The 101 was the best outfit I had the pleasure of working with. Always sad I never got to wear the Patch.

My grandfather was 327th Glider Infantry in WWII and was killed June 12, 1944 near Caen. We are trying to verify whether he was with the group that came into Normandy on Gliders, but some 327th, I have read, landed at Utah beach with the 4th Infantry Division. We will be visiting there for D + 60 years next June and wonder where we might find more info on the units and combat action leading up to June 12, 1944. Thanks.

Hello:

I really enjoy your web site and it has given me some insight as to my uncles fallen brothers and current ones.. I'm looking for info on anyone who served with A Co., 3rd Platoon, 2/327th Inf. from Dec 14 1967 - Feb 5 1968. My uncle's name was Gerald Pelzman 1LT. and he served with your unit until his death on February 5, 1968, in Gia Dinh. If you have any info or pictures and would like to share, it would mean a lot to me. Please feel free to drop me a line anytime.

Thanks
Gerald Green

My cousin, my hero, 1LT. Alan J O'Brien was KIA at Hill 86 9-17-66. I have spent many years trying to find out how he died. I now know, thank you. To know that he died with warriors like you fills me with pride and provides comfort. I remember how proud he was to give me a Screaming Eagle unit patch. Thank you. The warrior in me honors the warrior in you.

I was the XO of A/1/327 when 34 brother Screaming Eagles (29 from A/1/327 and 5 CH-47 crew members) were killed 11/28/71 near Hai Van pass when their chopper crashed after receiving a single hit. To extend the story slightly, there were three aircraft that had that mission that day. One reached Camp Eagle, One returned to Da Nang because of bad weather. I went ahead by ground the previous day to prepare the destination facilities. I did not know until reading the report on your site that there had been a hit on the aircraft. Thanks for a great site. Keep up the good work.

Just saw the messages about B and C company 1/327th. We have just received 3 letters from Cobra Company and Bravo company and all seems to be going good, the spirits are high and they are happy that the people of America are supporting them and each one of them are looking forward to getting home to their families and say to keep the packages and letters coming, and we will. .
