I recently played golf and met a member of the 327th. I was with the 326th Eng as an RTO. From Feb-May 69, I was at several firebases as the RTO for the Engrs building them and in charge of the LZs to bring in equip, etc. I spent my last 6 months in country at Camp Eagle. It's always good to meet anyone in the 101st. I was a leg that came to the Division in Nov. 68, but there's no one more proud of what the Div did in VietNam, and still does today. Later Lads......

Thank you to all the Vets! You have done us proud serving your Country! It is so important for Americans to support our Vets of yesterday, today and tomorrow!
I have started a small grassroots effort with a big heart called Patriotic Fridays. I want everyone to support our troops and to promote patriotism in America by participating in Patriotic Fridays. The letter below was written by me and is posted on my web site. It has been sent to the Air Force Times, several Ca newspapers, to friends on the internet, celebrities and to politicians. It is being promoted by the Dr I work for and participated in by us and patients. It has grown from the Chiropractor's office where I work and beyond the neighborhoods of our patients to Americans across the Country. I hope you will join us in Patriotic Fridays. God bless you for all your support and prayers for our Vets.

Remember post 9/11 Patriotism?
We waved flags, dressed in red, white and blue, adorned our clothes with flag pins, placed flag stickers on our cars and posters in our windows. We pledged not to forget and to stand united!
As time goes by, we are seeing tattered flags, faded posters, peeling stickers and a lack of red, white and blue in our lives.
IT IS TIME AGAIN TO STAND UNITED AS AMERICANS!
It's not about being Democrat or Republican or Independent, it's not about race, religion or how you feel about the war in Iraq. It's not even about high gas prices or the economy. It is about our FREEDOM as Americans!
Let's make every Friday, PATRIOTIC FRIDAY! Wear your red, white and blue proudly. Get out your flag shirts, scarves, ties, hats, pins and let everyone know that you are PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN and that WE STILL STAND UNITED!
Pass this on! Talk about it! Do It! Let a great thing begin with you.
GOD BLESS AMERICA

IF WE REALLY CARE, WE WILL MAKE IT HAPPEN
by Jos? G. Ramos
On May 15, 2004, I left Whittier, CA. on what was to be the most emotional and mental "roller coaster" bicycle ride of my life. I fully recall the feelings I had as I rode my bicycle down the roads of Vietnam back in 1998 and they will always be unforgettable memories. However, this ride across America, where I had the opportunity to visit every major Veteran's medical center in every state we rode across, was truly a life long experience. I don't know if anyone has ever done this but I had the chance to visit with hundreds of Veterans in every hospital we visited. We spoke to them in Vet-Centers, clinics, groups, waiting rooms, wards, waiting for prescriptions, etc. But they were there, each one a warrior, each one a Veteran. It was so great. They wanted to hear about the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day project we were on, they wanted to see our bikes, wear the helmets and so on. But most of all, every single Veteran I met, regardless of what era they served in, all agreed it was about time to fix that old wrong. It is time to Welcome Home our Vietnam Veterans. When we arrived in DC we worked out of Congresswomen Grace Napolitano's and Linda T. Sanchez's office along with their wonderful staff members for two days. We made appointments, we did walk-in's to other Congressional Offices, we phoned, we stopped Congressional folks in the hallways, elevators, cafeterias, etc. We talked and worked for two days in the Halls of Congress and we raised a lot of awareness as to what needed to be done with the Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Bill {H. Res # 485} and about our faulty VA Medical system. We also asked all we spoke with to support Bill H.R. 2318 the mandatory funding bill for our VA Medical Facilities. This insures that our warriors who are out there now will have a VA system that will be here for them when THEY NEED it. This is not only about Vietnam Veterans this about our men and women who are out there NOW, TODAY. I am including all the information I could gather to share with ya'll cause now it is up to us, the regular, everyday Americans to back up our talk that we "love our Veterans." Now is the time to show that love and appreciation. Let's get our politicians to do the right thing. It is time to make it happen. All it takes from us is the honest desire to see an old wrong corrected and to really have it in our hearts that we need to thank and Welcome Home the new Veterans as well as the Veterans of the Vietnam War who did a tremendous and honorable job during their time of service. It's in Congress now, all we have to do today is push the Bills, and push our local Reps to support them. If you go to this site on the net [http://mygov.governmentguide.com/mygov/issues/bills/?billtype=H.R.&billnumb;=2318&congress;=108} you can actually se the wording on the bills and who the sponsors are.
I hope this information makes it easier for all of you to make this very important phone call and understand what you are calling about.
God bless you my friends and it is really important that you and all you know who care about Veterans call their local Congressional Representative and ask them to support Bill H.RES. # 485 "Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that a "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day" should be established."
Also, Bill # H.R.2318 "To amend title 38, United States Code, to provide for assured adequate level of funding for veterans health care."
My team and I have done what we can to raise awareness. It is up to us and the rest of America to make this change happen.
Share this with everyone so they can call their congressional leader anywhere in the States. PLEASE MAKE THE CALL AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
Thanking you again in advance for your efforts, love and support of our Veterans.

Gentlemen,
I am the company executive officer for D Co. 1-327. Mike Moreno and Andy Roy stopped by and spoke to the company today. They announced that our alumni were going to present the company with an American flag that flew over FIRE BASE TOMAHANK. This is a wonderful honor for the company. It will be hung in the conference room to remind us of your sacrifice. Thank you for this connection to our past.
After their visit I took some time to view this website. I had heard mention of it before and this visit by Mike and Andy really got my attention. After viewing it I certainly have more knowledge and pride about our great battalion. I also want to thank all you for your service. You have left an ?Above the Rest? legacy that we here uphold everyday.
In Operation Iraqi Freedom I served as platoon leader for 2nd PLT, Co. C, 1-327 and 1st PLT, Co. D, 1-327. Upon our return soldiers were talking about a reunion for Cold Steele and how much they enjoyed speaking with the vet?s. So, I plan on joining the reunion this weekend and meeting you all. I also would love to get my hands on one of those Cold Steele Cobra T-Shirts.
Finally, if any of you would like to tour the company area please feel free to stop by, you are always welcome.
Sincerely,
Corey McCoy

Hi Jim
Thanks for sharing this site with me and serving our great country. I did not have a chance to do that. I have two son's that also signed up. My older son went through boot camp Fort Sill, kicked out on a medical for a blood clot in his arm. All his buddy's went to Desert Strorm. My younger son signed up for the Coast Guard but was turned down after a year because he admitted to smoking pot in high school. If you can tell me what is wrong with this picture I would greatly appreciate the input. Then again I what to thank you and all your buddy's personally for everything you have done for me, my family and this beautifull country that we live in! God Bless Our Troops Please bring them home Safe!
