Just found this site, I think its great. Served with 2/327 from 4-66 to 4-67 in commo. plt., spent time
in field with A,B,C. co's and Sfc.Kelly's A.T. plt.
Medivaced out of Trung Luong ll while with A co.
June 21,66. I can not express the pride I have in
the troopers of the 1st Brg., and 2/327. I wish you all well and happy holidays. A speacial hello to
Sfc. Kelly and to the three other delinquents from
commo. whom volunteered for Trung Luong, Sgt. Fortner, Spc. Paroli and Phillips. We almost lost
Phillips out there, he got hit bad. We did lose Lt. Pearson earlier that year when B co. CP.
was over run as well as B co. commander. Spc. Ron Pryor my bud, Pfc. Uribe and a new man in country, I am sorry that I do not recall his name.
They are gone, but never forgotten. God bless and keep all, Whom enter the valley.

To Dannys' Vietnam family, thank you for being there with our brother when we couldn't. Let it be known that our children and our children's, children will always know the sacrifices that you all made. Dannys' story is told often and proudly.

My father James H "Jim" Backer was 'A' company 327th GIR 101st Abn at Bastogne in the Ardennes Dec 1944. He was L.M.G . I guess I'm a baby boomer to young for Vietnam by a year. My Father died in 1986 but he had some stories. Mutton and raisen bread comes to mind. And later burchesgarden. Also a story he had about the Russian Lippizan Stallions they helped save from being eaten by the Germans. I would like to fill in the pieces and find someone that has similar stories passed down to them from their father. All current actives we are forever grateful for You..

Just want to wish all merry xmas and happy new year and thanks for all the great stuff on the site. Great job, it has helped in a lot of ways and just knowing there are still a lot of us left who remember that time in our lives. Thanks to Tim Rudd and M Kumar for helping me to remember some of those times back in 1970 and making me feel I am not alone. Thank you all Keith

SGT Herb Amrhein, B 1/327 was KIA 18 Jul '69. Anyone have a memory of Herb? I'm helping his best friend from HS (a grunt with the 1st ID) find out what happened. This was the same 3 day period when John Gertsch was KIA, but I think they were in a different AO. Appreciate any help. I guess my old unit, the 1/321 FA is now 155s and attached to the 82nd. Working on getting my son assigned to the 101st.
