ATTENTION: Trying to find out if anyone knew SSGT -E6 Mr. Phillip Laframboise well enough to know if he had family in Canada or was Canadian. It says he was from La Mesa, CA but I do know that many Canadians had put down American hometowns in order to serve. I am Canadian and believe we may have been related. Any family members who would know are dead now and cannot help me. If you know anything about this or any of his living relatives please email me. Thank you to all that served, all that gave their lives and the liberties we have because of it. I am truely honoured.

I got out in 89, served as a squad leader for 2nd platoon C Co. 1/327. Some of the best times in my life were with the 101st. I still miss it to this day. Keep up the good work and know that your in our prayers.

I thank Tim Stubbe for directing me to this website. I served along side of Tim in both Charlie and Echo companies of the 1/327 during 69 and 70. My tour started on Aug.17,1969 and ended a year later. Our best friend, Johnny Compton got us both to volunteer for the sniper team in early 70 and we three served on the same team. Tim and I later put together our own five man teams. I have some great pictures and memories of all my buddies who served with me. Our base camp was at Camp Eagle outside Phu Bai.
I haven't had time to search the site yet but would like to thank who ever took the time and effort to put together this site where we can all share memories and maybe get in touch with those who were part of our past.
Regards,
Jimmy Swindell

I arrived in the Nam Nov66 at Kontum. The Gray Ghost taught me the ropes on our first mission. I then got a prick 25 and humped it the entire time. I of course went through several Platoon leaders. I remember two especially. Lt. Rivello because of May 14 Mothers Day 67 we lost a bunch of good men! I was RTO and luckily made it. I remember 8 KIA and 52 Wounded give or take a couple. I had LT Gooch and he was like the mild mannered reporter but I found he was more. LT. I wish now I had gone to the rear with you. Anyway I made it. Ghost you came to see me in Illinois a couple of years after maybe 70? If you see this call me. I saw your blog online. Anyone that remembers that hellacious day get in touch. Your brother. Zero RTO Oh, Zero because of you Sgt. Baily. Ron Turner

"No Slackers"

Over the years, "No Slackers" from both the 1st & 2nd Battalions have ordered from our Currahee Gift Shop/PX. Check out the new designed products for the 1st & 2nd Battalions, 327th just added to the 3-506th Website Gift Shop/PX at www.currahee.org. Shirts, Mugs, Steins, Hats, etc. can be found there. Thank you for your business. Click on the following link, or type in this address to visit the Gift Shop. http://www.cafepress.com/currahee3rd_506

As many of you know, we had men from the 327th come to us when we activated the 3-506th, we had troopers transferred to the proud 327th in Vietnam during the infusion program and after our battalion stood down in May 1971. We also had some of our brothers killed in action while serving with the 327th. I just finished another book titled "My Gift To You", which includes some of the stories of those Currahees who died while serving in the 327th. You can get the book from our Gift Shop.

One last thing. If anyone has any Screaming Eagle Newspapers from their tour in Vietnam and would loan me any issue that I am missing from my collection, let me know. I am about ready to have another printing of these Screaming Eagle Issues (in book form). Some of you order copies of the 1st Printing. E-mail me if you have any issues. All I need is to borrow issues to have digital scanned and I will return to you.

Jerry in Montana

My brother, PFC ALAN E. WILLIAMS KIA 10/2/67, was with A/1/327 when he was killed in what the Army said was an ambush. At the time(FNG) he was an RTO but don't know which PLT. He was a replacement sent to RVN in Jun 67 from 2/502 101st Ft. Campbell before the 2nd & 3rd Bde's were deployed. He was somewhere around Phu Bai and Chu Lai during the period. Anyone remember a tall, blond, skinny 18 year old from Campbell or RVN? I would be thankful for any info or history about his short life. He used to travel up from Ft. Campbell with his Unit buddies to Bowling Green, Ky and sometimes Chicago to have some fun on his "off time"

My uncle Douglas Lee Johnson served in the 101st - the only thing I know is that he was in Vietnam sometime in 1968. He has since passed away- and being my favorite uncle I always wanted to know about his time in the service but was afraid to ask. Does anyone remember my uncle?

This is a follow up to Rich Rios post of Oct.16, 2006, concerning Ernie Moore(may have had a nickname of Goose). Ernie was assigned to B Co./2/327th in July of 1969 until sometime around March-April, 1970 when he was transferred to our unit(3/506/101st/Co. B). Shortly after his arrival, our unit went into Cambodia (Early May, 1970) and Ernie was KIA on 5-10-70 when Co. B was ambushed by a large NVA unit. Ernie's widow was found this year thru our website and attended a reunion. Unfortuneately, we have not located anybody who knew Ernie per he was with our unit only a short period of time. We are hoping that somebody from your unit will remember him per his widow(Candy Moore Sullins) would like to make contact with any friends Ernie had during his time with 2/327th. He was from Michigan. Another identifying feature was a gold front tooth.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im a 19 year old student writing a paper on why people are claiming to have served in Vietnam when they really dident...In no way am I saying any of you men are claiming this....I would just like to ask anyone to respond as to why they think someone would claim such a thing...from the facts I have just under 3 million men and woman served...But 9 million Americans claimed to have served...That pisses me off and I see my self as to young to even comprehend what you men have been through...So if any of you would like to offer me an opinion on this subject....please..E - mail me...Thank you all for your service...

Looking for anyone who knew Ernest L. Moore, 2/327th, 69 - 70. Ernest was from Michigan. He transferred into our battalion, 3/506th Infantry, a few weeks prior to battalion combat assault into Cambodia 05 May 70. Moore was KIA'd 10 May in Cambodia. We're trying to help his widow learn more about him thru grunts that might have worked with him. No one from 3/506th remembers him because he was with us for only two weeks and then we got virtually wiped out 10 May 70.
Any help is appreciated. WELCOME HOME BROTHERS!! CURRAHEE!!

I went to my 1961 high school class reunion Sept.30. This was my second one, first was 20 yrs ago. When we were ready to leave I saw a guy I was in Boy Scouts with, and at the 25 yr. reunion I attended he told me he was a retiring Army finace officer. I started talking to him and found out he was a platoon leader in A/1/327th Nov. 68 - May 69. What a coinsidence; I arrived in country Dec. 1, 68 and was platoon leader in A/2/327th until Apr.69 I had no idea of any others from my El Cerrito High School were in-country. His name is Steve Donaldson. While we talking Bill McGee came over and said he was in-country as (I believe) a radio/communications expert. We also lost
1st L. Esmond Emerson Snell, April 16, 1968.
I am forwarding this site info to Steve.
What a small and intricate world.

I would like to talk or see any of my platoon, just to touch bases and say hi, how are you doing? Shirley, Sgt Marley, Sgt Clark, Reb, Gilbauex ?(spelling), Lennie Naughton (RTO)., Sgt. Arnold (the best platoon Sgt. ever). We had two snipers, can't remember names, but they were tough, as was everyone in the platoon.
