My grandfather was part of the 101 327 screaming eagles during the Desegragation in little rock. He is on the cover of one of the october issues of time magazine in 1957. I was wondering if anyone else on here served with him. His name is Dean.

My oldest son and I were watching a video of the 101 in the A Shau on U-Tube the other day and he saw an RTO with the hand-set wraped in plastic. He ask me why? I explained that it was to help keep the dirt and moisture out. Then he ask, "How did you keep it out of your weapons"? I told him that we sometimes put "condoms" over the barrels. He doesn't believe me. Will someone write back and verify this. Thanks.
