I am responding to TOM CARPENTERS guest book entry made on 05/13/08. You spoke of a CLIFF TARBELL in your guest book entry. I was an RTO in 1970 with "D" 2/327 and we had a CLIFFORD TARBELL KIA on 10APR70 from a booby trap. Since you had gone home, thought you might not known about it. He was a Great pointman and missed every day.

I am writing some true short stories about Brett Crandall; Sam the Kit Carson Scout; SFC Robert Ray Fry; Louis Ortiz; Mick Rupe; LT Raymond R. Piseno Jr; Sgt Thomas Hempel; Cliff Tarbel, Hill 88; the battalion size cordon of Phu Bai 3 that started on or about March 20, 1969; and Firebase Fury. Any knowledge or photos of these would helpful.

"corp" was my tag in vietnam
When I 1st started with this band of brothers and met them, I became "mailman". That is my tag now. I have been in the goup almost from the start. I went to my first re-union in 2000. I have met a lot of great people at these re-unions.

D 1/327th 69-70 After returning home from 2 1/2 years in Iraq working as a International Police Advisor, I met up with Terry Kivioja and Richard Hedlund in Minnesota. I hadnt seen these guys since serving together in Vietnam. Both were M-60 gunners and I was an RTO. It was a good reunion and I hope to see more of them. Thanks to the old 327th web-site I was able to locate them. I worked closely with the military in Iraq and I am very proud of the guys and gals of todays Army.

Recently, I had the honor of being the graduation speaker for a US Army Ranger graduation at Fort Benning. Seeing those young men standing in formation and proud of what they just accomplished is absolutely awe inspiring and yet another example of the professional Army we have as a nation. God bless our troops and God bless America!!

Hello all, served with B/2nd/327th from July 67-
Sept 68. Saw Dale Michael Grabbs (Sept 68-Sept 69) mention of Plt.Sgt. from B/2nd/327th known as
"Big Daddy". We had a plt. sgt. (Willie Sigler)known as "Big Daddy" during the latter part of my tour in 67-68. Could be the same person.

I was a door gunner with the 176th AHC (Minutemen) from April 67 thru Nov. 67 . We supported the IST Brigade on all the operations of Task Force Oregon. (Benton, Hood River, Cook and Malheur1 & 2)... Just wanted to say what an honor it was flying you guys in and out and helping when we could.
I was aboard one of two slicks that pulled out about 18 KIAs sometime in mid to late Oct. of 67. I cant recall what battalion or company. I was hoping someone from that time period could fill me in on what happened that night. Does anybody remember Col. Loughton?

Was wondering if anyone remembered Royce E. Eddleman (Edsel). He was killed 4/21/1968 in Viet Nam. My sister Lois was engaged to him at the time. Monday will be the 40th anniversary of his death and it would be nice to hear from anyone that knew him and/or fought beside him. Thank you.
