First let me just say that I appreciate everything that you brave men and women did over there in that awful place. I am doing a personal favor for cpl Thomas (Tom) True from the 101st Airborne at Camp Eagle. I am an active duty Captain currently serving overseas and am trying to find any information on my second cousin, SGT Douglas F. Wortman. He was an RTO in E Co, 327 IN from 1969-1970. I was an In Country Transfer from the AMERICAL. Served in B co 2nd/327th from "Oct 71 thru April 72" From Camp Eagle and B-Ham, to Cam Rahn Bay when the Bn stood down, and returned the colors back to FT Campbell. Later, I was the XO of C co 2nd Bn (Airborne) 187th INF (RAKKASAN) in Panama.

i served with peter malae as a temp security guard in saigon for apprx 60 days...a group of us was pulled out 90 replo for temp dutyas guards.. we were then sent to 101st abn.. i went to 2bn 327inf

Anybody serve with a Peter Malae? Best of my knowledge was in RVN for his first of 3 tours in 66'/67' with HHQ 2/327-HAWK RECON 1-1. Carried the "60", big Samoan dude, and was one bad SOB! Served with a "Doc Howe" and a Sgt. Rick Vaughn.

In the past week I made contact with two Brothers which I have not seen in over 40 years...Bro. Rich Walsh and Bro. Ken Kesinger... as you know it touch my heart... Rich and I made contact in Boston when I was there visiting my family.. ( I now reside in Georgia outside of Ft. Stewart ) I know that I am bless to have two brothers that were in the same company C.2/327 Inf. N.F.S. at the same time drinking the same rice paddy water... I still miss my Bro, who are still on the objective... they live forever in our hearts and minds

Proudly served 68-69, Camp Eagle, 101st HHQ, loaned to I think the 326 Engr Corps... And I ran the HHQ generator station & helped wire up electrical, with my other roster duties.
SP5 awarded as I left May 69 (full year at Camp Eagle. Great site! Lots of memories here - thanks.

On Sept. 11 1969 I arrived in Phu Bai assigned to C btry 2/138. B btry 2/138 was on Tomahawk at that time. On Oct.10,1969 the National Gaurd unit from Kentucky went home. We became the 1/39th. On December 8, 1969, we relieved B btry on Tomahawk & stayed there until Mar. 11,1970
