I’m Sam and started life in US Army in 1965!!

Out of  Jump School & right to 101st  Easter weekend – 1st Bde.

Had just left for CA. to load on USS General LeRoy Eltinge.  Maybe 1st start was 1/502 then 1/187. Then Flying Tiger Airline to VN.

Signed to B Co, 2/327  weapons Plt. 81 mm, Base Gun until Christmas 65. Then was pulled & put in 3rd Plt &  packed a Prick 25 Radio.  All this at 17 yrs old, but I was Proud I‘m in 101st ABN!!  With the best SOLDIERS in the 1st BDE who took me in as a New Bee & taught right. And then I was assigned  to pack a Prick 25 for an FO. Can’t remember his name, he was A SFC – a black Sgt taught me a lot. A Good NCO!!!

Later Guys.  If anyone remembers those Early Days give me a text, “Sent from my Soldiers”.
