Went to Jump School at Fort Benning, GA in 1967. Gave my Blood Wings to my sweetheart. Her and I are still married for over 35 years now (don’t know how she did it). We have three sons and three grandchildren.
I went to Vietnam in November ’67 with the rest of the 101st Division. Was at Phouc Vinh for a month or two then transferred up north to the 2/327 A and C Companies. I spent most of my time as a machine gun team leader. Came back home in November of ’68. Still had 16 months to serve and went to the 82nd at Fort Bragg.
