Thunder our scout dog. He was K.I.A. the same day as Sergeant Tieman and those guys (5/25/67). He was as loyal as any trooper we had. When they found his body he had a piece of enemy uniform in his teeth.

I don’t know if he even got a decent burial. I helped police up the bodies that day but can’t remember if he got picked up.

This has bothered me for years. These dogs gave so much. I know he was medevac’d a couple of times, as the leeches would go up his nose. It would be nice if we could have some kind of small memorial thing for him. He could have ran that day but he stayed and gave his life for us.
