Enlisted for Airborne Infantry on 3/4/68 in Medford Ma. Basic training was at Ft. Dix, New Jersey. AIT was at Camp Crockett, Ft. Gordon Ga.
What a place, Quonset huts, salted drinking water in lister bags in the company street and plenty of red clay. I received my basic jump wings at Ft. Benning, Ga in August 1968. Arrived in country in September 1968 and was assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 327th Inf. In September 1969 I returned to the world. My next assignment was with the 82nd Airborne, the All-American Division.
Discharged on 3/3/71.
