A Company 1969 – 1970

I served in Viet Nam from April 1969 through May of 1970. I was an E-5 (Sergeant) when I left Viet Nam. My first sergeant had promised me a rear job if I extended. I did extend for 55 days so I could derose out of the Army upon my return from Viet Nam, which I did. I was in the 1st Battalion, A Company, 3rd platoon initially and was and RTO. About 6 months in country the Captain of our company ask me to be his RTO which I accepted and served in that capacity until I got a rear job for my last 55 days in country.

I am married to Renee (Benoit) and have been for almost 30 years. We have 4 children and now two grand children. We have a home on Pearl Lake in Stearns County, Mn and our mailing address is 19165 East Shore Drive, Kimball, Mn 55353. We’ve live here for 29 years. I am semi retired and worked 29 years for DeZurik-Now called SPX Valves & Controls, an Industrial Valve Manufacturer in Sartell, Mn. primarily in the Finance area reaching the level of Controller and Vice President. Prior to that worked in St Paul, Mn for Eco-Labs Inc.

I am an avid golfer, love to hunt, and do some fishing. We enjoy the country life. I am now 56 years old.
